Peru and Mexico Relations to Strengthen After Signing Bilateral Agreement

President Ollanta Humala met with with President-elect Enrique Peña Nieto of Mexico on Sunday at the Presidential Palace to discuss an expanding alliance between their countries due to a bilateral trade agreement that includes Chile and Colombia.

Peña Nieto commented to members of the business association Confiep, that the bilateral trade has reached $2 million. The state news agency Andina reported that Peña Nieto said that “Peru is the second most important destination for Mexican investments in Latin America.” The president-elect further commented that relations between Peru and Mexico are the “motor and lever” for social development.
